Few yachts carry a legend like the 100ft Maxi Comanche. In 2022 I joined her as part of the 10 person crew, sailing 41 days across the Pacific from Antigua to Australia. Documenting the entire journey tested endurance as much as seamanship.

The Pacific crossing was only the beginning. Staying aboard as Comanche’s Onboard Reporter, I chronicled her entire Sydney to Hobart campaign. From the first practice sails in Sydney Harbour to the spray and fury of the race itself. Each race before the main event honed the crew to precision, and when we finally crossed the Derwent River to claim line honours, it felt like closing a circle... the end of a journey that had begun halfway across the world.
